Teens arrested in connection with attack on Charles Dickens schoolgirl released on bail

Three teenagers arrested following a reported assault in Margate yesterday on a 12-year-old Charles Dickens pupil have been released on bail.

The victim, a young girl, suffered a head injury during the assault that took place in Arlington Gardens at around 3.30pm. She was taken to hospital for treatment and is now recovering at home.

A video of the vile attack, where the girl was repeatedly punched in the face and then kicked in the head, had been circulating on social media.

Kent Police arrested two girls, aged 13 and 14, from Margate on suspicion of assault yesterday. Today a 15-year-old girl from Margate was also arrested in connection with the incident.

They have all been released on bail while officers continue their investigation.

  1. I hope there are conditions attached to their bail…Curfew, and requirement to be accompanied by an adult if out of their homes….
