Police search for driver who hit cyclist on A299 near Monkton

Police are searching for a driver who hit a cyclist last night (October 6) and then left the scene.

Kent Police was called at 8.13pm  after the man was injured on the A299, near Monkton. Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to hospital with injuries which are not life threatening.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “It is reported that a car had been in a collision with the bike and that the driver left the scene.”

Enquires are ongoing to find the driver of the car. The road was reopened at around 11pm.
