Winning Moves games company is going to create a Margate Monopoly board.
The firm, which previously produced a Canterbury edition of the board game, is carrying out research to find out which landmarks residents think should go on the board.
Winning Moves sales executive Jennifer Lau will be in town from September 3 to talk to residents about which businesses, restaurants, organisations, landmarks and education sites should grab a space.
Will Turner Contemporary be the town’s Mayfair, where exactly is the free parking, will Dalby Café, GB Pizza, The Two Halves, Margate Museum and the London Tavern get a spot?
And what about the Shell Grotto, Margate Caves, Dreamland, Main Sands, Theatre Royal, Winter Gardens, Nayland shelter and the Lido? Will Margate FC get the sport spot with a Libertines shirt logo?
Jennifer, who is originally a Thanet girl, said: “I’ll be coming down to see what people’s thought are and what should go where.
“There will be room for everything from culture and heritage to local organisations, education, restaurants, sports.
“We are at the research stage but aiming for the board to come out in March 2019, just ahead of the holidays when lots of people will be heading to Margate.”

I think that Turk-ish barbers should be on the board game Turk-ish barber is arguably the best Barbour shop in Thanet let alone Margate. The shop is always so busy with the friendliest and most welcoming staff team. I have been using Turk-ish barber since it has been opened and haven’t once heard a bad review from anyone I have friends coming down from Herne Bay Canterbury etc just to have there hair cut at this place. A friendly and welcoming barber for everyone would be a great addition to this board game and they deserve this recognition. Thank you.
