Whitehall Road closed after boy suffers injuries in collision

A boy has been injured after being hit by a car in Ramsgate this afternoon (July 4).

Kent Police was called to a report of the collision in Whitehall Road at 3.36pm.

Officers are attending the scene and the road is currently closed. The boy was treated to by the South East Coast Ambulance Service. The Kent air ambulance was called in but the youngster was then taken to QEQM Hospital by road.

A Secamb spokesman said: “Ambulance crews have attended the scene alongside the air ambulance service which joined us at the scene.

“This followed reports that a pedestrian, a child, had been hit by a vehicle. A boy has been treated at the scene for injuries before being taken to QEQM hospital in Margate by road.”

The youngster was transferred to Kings College Hospital with chest and head injuries but has been given the all clear.
