Margate woman to face charges over crash which left Birchington postman with serious injuries

Vince, who was airlifted to King's College, says he may not be able to return to work

A woman is to appear in court to face charges following a crash in Margate which left a Birchington postman with serious injuries.

Kent Police was called to College Road on Saturday 6 January to a report of the collision involving a car and a pedestrian. Postman Vince Marsh suffered serious injuries in the incident, including four fractured ribs, a broken leg and a shattered knee ca . Vince also had pins down his leg, a fractured eye socket, deep cut to his head and scrapes and bruises.

He was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London where he remained for six weeks.

The 59-year-old is undergoing physiotherapy to enable him to bend his knee again and will likely take until the Autumn until he is recovered enough to return to work.

A 43-year-old woman from Margate has been served a requisition to attend Margate Magistrates’ Court on July 10 where she will face charges of driving while unfit through alcohol, failing to stop after a collision, and failing to provide a specimen of breath when required to do so.
