The Kentish Pantry opens its doors in Margate Old Town

Curiously Kentish bistro, deli, supper club and wholesalers in Minnis Bay has expanded to open a pantry in Margate today (November 12).

The Kentish Pantry, in the Old Town, opened its doors at 10am and offers local produce, hampers, gift sets and the opportunity to sit down and enjoy coffee and pastries.

The venture is the latest from Curiously Kentish owner and chef Jason Freedman and his team.

The bistro in Minnis Road offers salted, smoked, brined and pickled meats, fish and seafood plus salads, deli accompaniments, sauces. It provides the best artisan foods produced in Kent, including cheese, pasta, rice, sauces, speciality oils, vinegars, syrups, herbs and delicatessen fine foods.

Now some of that offering has been expanded to Margate with the pantry and new lines are due to be added.

Jason said: “There’s a lot more coming to the Pantry. It’s a work in progress at the moment but when all is in place we believe it will be even more amazing.”

The Kentish Pantry is at 1 Duke Street, formerly the site of The Shop and the Wellington Hotel.

The pantry will be open seven days a week from 10am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on. Sunday and Monday. The hours may be changed at a future date and the Curiously Kentish supper clubs will also be started at the venue.
