A man has been charged with Ramsgate robbery, thefts and assault

A man has been arrested and charged with robbery, assault and two thefts in Ramsgate.

Andrew Mullen, 42, of Sussex Street, has been charged with robbery following an incident in Sussex Street on Friday 26 May  between 10pm and the early hours of Saturday 27 May. A 35-year-old man reported he was threatened with a knife and had cash stolen.

Mr Mullen has also been charged with assault and two counts of theft following incidents in Turner Street on Friday 26 May, where it was reported that cash was stolen from a 35-year-old woman, and in the town centre on Monday 29 May  where  a 52-year-old woman reported she was assaulted and cash was stolen.

Mr Mullen has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court via video link today (May 31).

UPDATE

Mr Mullen was remanded in custody by Medway Magistrates’ Court  and is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Wednesday 28 June.
