‘Sea More’ at the Lombard Street Gallery in Margate

An exhibition of work from local artists inspired by the sea will go on display at the Lombard Street Galley in Margate Old Town.

Sea More will run from from Saturday 1 April to Sunday 4 June and includes work from six artists.

A meet the artist event will also be held on April 15 from 2pm to 4pm.

Ruth McDonald and Harriet Ferris will be at the gallery and available to discuss their work, influences and process while people view the exhibition.

Work on show also includes that by landscape painter Anthony Giles, who works ‘en plein air’, absorbing colour, shadow and reflection of the world around him.

Painter-printmaker Ruth McDonald exhibits her response to the sea by failing light and moonlight and  Nick Kelly captures the Kent coast whilst bringing hidden gems to the fore.

Claire Gill’s photographic montagescombine and juxtapose colour, surface and structure in a poetic scene and Zoe Murphy. Zoe  brings Margate – and Mexico – in her colourful hand-printed upcycled furniture and textiles.

Harriet Ferris will show works with found natural pieces creating small and collectible sculptures.
