The family of talented artist and musician Paul Butters pay tribute to “gifted, loved young man”

Tribute has been paid to talented Paul Butters, dad to Taiyah Peebles

The family of gifted artist and musician Paul Butters from Ramsgate have paid a touching tribute following his death just a month after his daughter died.

Former Chatham House student Paul was sadly found dead at a property in Wellington Crescent on Sunday. He was the father of teenager Taiyah Peebles who tragically died last month on the rail line at Herne Bay station.

Paul, who was 37, was a popular former employee at The Ravensgate Arms and was also known for being a part of local bands and for his brilliant art work.

In a joint statement Paul’s parents said: “Our son Paul was such a gifted, loved young man. He was a very much wanted son and he had a beautiful soul and kind heart.

“His sisters would describe him as fun, talented and annoying but they all miss him so much.

“A piece of our family is missing from all our hearts.”

Devastated friends have also paid tribute to “a true gentleman” and an “incredible person.” One friend said: “ I loved his openness, honesty, humour and kindness. He had a great sense of humour and I loved being in his company.”

Kent Police say there are no suspicious circumstances in Paul’s death and they are preparing a report for the coroner.
