The Margate Beach Cross event this weekend has been cancelled.
A notice has been displayed on the page of organisers BX UK to say : “These are never the nicest things to write, however we have made the decision to cancel the BXUK event this weekend.
“We know everyone involved puts so much effort in to making these events a success; it is all very much appreciated and never goes unnoticed.
“However, due to the unforeseen events of the last 24 hours, this weekend’s Championship round has been cancelled.
Every rider who has entered will be refunded their entry fee.”
The event was due to take place on Margate Sands on Saturday and Sunday.
The annual event attracts thousands of spectators and world ranked off-road competitors. This would have been the tenth year Margate hosted the event.
