Everything you need to know about the Addington Street Christmas fair

There will be a Christmas version of the popular Addington Street Fair

A Best Festive Dog and Owner competition, belly dancing, vintage cars and Santa in his grotto are just some of the attractions that will be at the first Addington Street Christmas fair next weekend.

The Addington Street Community group, which won this year’s Obelisk award for best event, have a packed programme of attractions for the day.

More than 60 residents and businesses have been cutting and sewing to create reams of Banksy-style bunting to decorate the street for the event.

Looping the Loop performance company have joined the fun to bring a mobile Santa’s grotto and elves and the day will be rounded off with carol singing, mince pies and handmade lanterns – including the snow dog from Ramsgate’s light switch on parade – in Liverpool Lawns.

There will be scores of stalls, including regulars from the handmade and vintage fair, as well as music, street entertainers, a treasure hunt and a festive photo craft pop-up.

The fair runs in Addington Street on December 10 from 11am to 5pm with the carols at Liverpool Lawn from 6pm

Music

Along Addington Street from Minus Barbie, Gaddzukers, Richie Triangle, and Sabina Desir and her community singers. In the evening there will be music at the Queen Charlotte pub, The Falstaff. Vinyl Head Café and the Churchill Tavern.

Family fun

Street entertainers, Magic Marcus Plant, Good Karma belly dancers, best dressed festive dog and owner, 12 days of Christmas treasure hunt, best dressed adult, child and group.

Vintage and classic car display

Get framed festive photo op and craft pop up for the youngsters

Santa

Looping the Loop bring Santa in his mobile grotto accompanied by his elves
