Railway engineering works close Ramsgate to Faversham lines

Replacement buses are running from Thanet railway stations due to engineering works between Faversham and Ramsgate, closing all lines.

Routes between London Victoria and Ramsgate and London St Pancras International rounder services are affected.

Trains will run between Victoria and Faversham and the High Speed will run between London St Pancras International and Faversham, and between Ramsgate and London St Pancras International via Dover or via Canterbury West.

Work includes phase 2 of the new footbridge at Westgate-on- Sea and maitenance on the Ramsgate Road bridge, Margate, meaning the road is currently closed off.

Replacement buses will run on the following routes:

Faversham – Ramsgate.

Margate – Ramsgate.

Herne Bay – Ramsgate (Saturday only).

Replacement buses will also operate on he same route next Saturday (February 15)

Southeastern has also advised passengers not to travel tomorrow due to expected high winds, saying: “If you do decide to travel, there is a high risk of significant disruption and you may not be able to complete your journey.

If routes become blocked due to fallen trees or other debris being blown on to the line, rail replacement transport is unlikely to be available.

Exceptionally high winds from Storm Ciara are forecast across the South East area on Sunday and in the early hours of Monday. ”
