Police have been called three times in two weeks to reports of assaults by groups of youths in Broadstairs Rec.
On March 13 officers and an ambulance were called when a schoolgirl was targeted by two boys.
The girl, believed to be in Year 7, had her blazer and jumper smeared in mud and then thrown in the bin during the bullying incident. An ambulance was called after the girl passed out. It is believed the boys involved have now been subject to a school suspension.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a park near Lloyd Road in Broadstairs at 3.57pm on Wednesday 13 March to a report a girl had been assaulted.
“No injuries were sustained but the victim was seen by paramedics as a precaution. Officers have conducted initial enquiries and it has been agreed by all parties that it is a matter for the schools to address.”
Just five days later police were again called to a report of a group of foreign language students being verbally and racially attacked. A witness said some 20 youngsters, aged between 10-12, were involved in the incident.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police attended the park near Lloyd Road in Broadstairs following a report of children causing a disturbance at 3.37pm on Monday 18 March. Those involved had left the scene prior to the attendance of officers.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify any victims, and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/51422/19.”
On Wednesday (March 27) police were called yet again to a report of a schoolboy being assaulted.
British Transport Police attended at 5.46pm but say as the incident occurred outside the station it was handed back to Kent Police.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “We are making enquiries with colleagues from the British Transport Police who attended a report of an assault on a boy in the Lloyd Road area of Broadstairs, which was reported to have taken place before 4.50pm on Wednesday 27 March,”
