Appeal for witnesses after Mercedes driver leaves scene of crashes on Thanet Way and Canterbury Road

Police officers investigating reported dangerous driving on the Thanet Way and the Canterbury Road heading into Birchington are appealing for witnesses.

At 5.09pm on Thursday 25 April, police were called to a collision involving a grey Mercedes and a red Renault on the A299 Thanet Way near the St Nicholas-at-Wade roundabout.

It was reported that the Mercedes had left the scene following the collision and was driven along the Canterbury Road towards Birchington, where it was involved in collisions with at least two other vehicles.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and no serious injuries were reported.

Enquiries to trace the driver of the Mercedes are ongoing and police are appealing to witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
