Two people treated by paramedics and cat rescued at house fire in Broadstairs

Crews were called to Carlton Avenue at 6.08pm. Kent Police, paramedics and a gas safety engineer were also at the scene.

Two people received care from South East Coast Ambulance service for minor burns and crews also rescued a cat.

A Kent Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Five fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the fire.

“Two people were passed into the care of SECAmb for minor burns and smoke inhalation, and one cat was rescued by crews.

“The cause of the fire is not yet known.”

Crews finished at the scene at 7.48pm.
