As part of their World War Two History learning Year 6 children from St. Joseph’s Primary School embarked on an Explorer Tour of Ramsgate Tunnels.
The tour began in a 150 year old Victorian Railway Tunnel where they watched a short film about Ramsgate under attack.
Then they headed off into 1.2 km of purpose-built Air Raid Precaution tunnels where thousands of people took shelter under the town of Ramsgate during the war.
Year 6 teacher Mrs. Osborne said: “What an amazing adventure for our young explorers, learning how people lived and the damage that was inflicted on our local area”.
