Police are looking to identify two men following theft at a Ramsgate shop.
Kent Police was called at 3.51pm yesterday (July 21) to the Key Store in York Street.
Witnesses say two males wearing balaclavas had entered the store but were “fought off” by the owner.
Police say the suspects stole drinks worth £15 before running out of the shop in the direction of Queen Street.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 3.51pm on Monday 21 July following reports that two people were seen to run out of a shop in York Street, Ramsgate.
“Officers attended and spoke to the shopkeeper who confirmed they had stolen approximately £15 worth of drinks from the store before running off in the direction of Queen Street.
“The suspects are unknown but anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/125887/25.”

Follow USA and allow business owners to carry guns to protect their porperty. Problem solved. Either thieves deterred or thieves dead.
I spend time in USA and buying a gun and ammunition is as easy as buying a bottle of beer. They even offered hollow-point ammunition for my 45 magnum to ensure proper stopping power and it is available at the locsl supermarket.
The criminals would arm themselves when robbing a store. Imagine the scene: your local corner shop the centre of a shoot-out between robber and store keeper.
What would happen to innocent customers and passers by?
Thank goodness we don’t have the same gun laws as the USA, where death by shooting is all to common an occurrence.

Can I recommend the small hadn held Criminal Identifier? Its legal, and can spray a jet of water based paint about 3 meters. It looks like a Pepper spray, but it can temporarily blind an attacker, or criminal. They don’t cost much and I never leave home without one. I have had to threaten to use it 3 times, once when a young man tried to snatch a baby from a push chair! He ran off!
On two other occasions by drug dealers once in Ramsgate High Street, and again in my road! I never actally sprayed the offenders, but just the sight of the spray was enough to scare them off. As I said they are legal, and on one occasion the police confiscated mine, prefering to believe the drug dealers rather than an elderly gentleman! The police then had to pay to replace mine, once they realised they had arrested the victim, and not the criminals, DuuurhQ
You’d have to carry several cans to spray all the criminals in Ramsgate!
If I was a shopkeeper I would have a baseball bat behind the counter.
I would recommend getting a pet black bear. The ruskies do it all the time. You can teach him all kinds of tricks. Anything from Juggling, mashing potatoes, mixed martial arts, algebra or even; eating potentially dangerous customers. Teach the bear to trust no one. Every single one of you could be walking out my shop with 15 £s worth of my drink. When the bear hibernates the shop is closed. Come on down we are opened for business!
