This year’s Minster Show will take place on July 19.
The annual event will be held at Minster Rec from 1pm to 5pm.
It will kick off with a fancy dress parade through the village and then feature more than 50 stalls, races for children, baby show, live music, Morris dancing, chainsaw carving and a show marquee containing craft, cookery, flowers, fruit and veg competitions.
Youngsters will be entertained by Pip the Clown and Pat the magician. Broken Seals and Village Voices Choir will provide music and there will be a tug of war, mascots bar, food stalls and more.
Local nostalgia author Nick Evans will also officially launch his new book, Away From The Coast – Stories From Thanet’s Villages, at the show. The book concentrates on past times in St Nicholas, Minster, Monkton, Sarre, Acol and Manston.
The 112 page book is crammed with 160 photos of the area with subjects including hoodening in St Nicholas, royal sausage making in Sarre, the air sea rescue helicopters of RAF Manston and Hill House Hospital in Minster.
Away From The Coast – Stories From Thanet’s Villages will be on sale at Westgate Galleria in Westgate, Attwell’s of Minster, St Nicholas Post Office and other outlets from mid July. Produced by Bygone Publishing, the price of a copy is £13.50.
The family fun will be £3 entry, under 5s free. Gates open 1pm, parade arrives at 1.30pm.

All floats (vehicles) must be in Freemans Road by 12.15pm and all walking fancy dress must be in Taylor Road ( Cliffes butchers) by 12.30pm to join the parade as it passes.
The parade moves off at 1pm.
