Emergency services were called to Westgate last night (July 11) after a car ploughed into the front garden of a bungalow at the junction of of Minster Road and Linden Road.
Police, fire and paramedic crews were called to the scene just before 10.30pm.
Luckily no injuries were reported.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called just before 10.30pm on Friday 11 July to Linden Road, Westgate following reports that a car had collided with the wall of a residential property.
“Officers attended, along with KFRS and SECAMB. No injuries were reported.”
Thankfully no injuries. But why on earth do they keep building homes in the middle of our racing circuits?
You ought to try living in Acol if you are making references to racetracks but do we see the police doing anything about it ? Of course not …… don’t be stupid to have expectations of the local police to actually police their area . In fact they recently blocked the village introducing a 20 mph limit and won’t do anything here unless there’s an accident or a fatality . They’ve actually said that to me and others too
I have got used to nodding off while ‘boy racers’ (of whatever age or gender) screech around the streets. It starts at maybe 10.30pm and goes on till 12.30pm or later. My perception is that this is a growing trend. I just hate it.
I’ve thought of going to the police, telling them that they’d get a fair few numberplates with little effort. I guess I should but just don’t hold out much hope.
I really feel for the owners of the house, I would hate such a thing to happen to my perimeter fence or gates. I hope they can claim against the insurance company covering the vehicle.
