A Christmas wonderland has been created at The Racing Greyhound pub in Ramsgate – and bosses hope it will help raise funds for chosen charity Wheelability.
Every year bar manager Gavin Jeffries goes all out to bring festive sparkle to the popular Hereson Road pub in a bid to get people in the Christmas spirit and – hopefully- persuade them to dig deep for charity events at the venue.
Gavin said: “Every Christmas, we choose a local charity to raise funds for. We hold a raffle, and other bar games, and this year, we will also be holding a family friendly New Years Eve quiz of the year.
“ I go over the top decorating the pub, in the hope it increases people’s sense of charity and gets them in a festive mood to support others!
“Our chosen charity this year is Wheelability, in Minnis Bay. The charity offers those with disabilities and health conditions, and also those with no health issues, the chance to hire a variety of bikes, including tandems, and go for a ride along the coastline, taking in the sights of Reculver along the way.
“They have been raising funds for additional bikes, which can be adapted to suit the cyclists needs, which in this day and age is incredible, knowing that there are more access friendly activities available.”
