One person airlifted to hospital and College Road closed following collision

College Road in Margate is closed following a collision this afternoon (September 20) where two people were injured with one being airlifted to a London hospital.

The closure is both ways from A254 Ramsgate Road (Victoria Traffic Lights) to A255 St Peter’s Road (Animal Hospital Double Roundabouts).

Police and paramedics are in attendance.

A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesperson said: “SECAmb were called at approx. 2:50pm today to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on College Road in Margate.

“Crews assessed and treated two people at the scene, before being joined by The Air Ambulance Charity, Kent, Surrey, Sussex who airlifted one patient to Kings College Hospital for further medical treatment. The second patient was discharged at the scene.”

A Kent Police spokesperson added: “Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a car in College Road, Margate at 2.55pm.

“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Officers are working to reopen the road following an earlier closure while the incident was responded to.”
