Thousands of people are expected to flock to Ellington Park next Sunday (17 May), as the popular May Fayre returns.
With more stalls and attractions than ever before, organisers say there will be something for everyone.
This year marks the return of the much-loved Dog Show (led by Frankie’s Doggie Diner), as well as a free fancy dress competition for children, a funfair, and some Ghostbusters are even expected to make an appearance.
The bandstand will come to life from 12 noon, with an array of choirs and bands performing throughout the day, including the Thanet Jubilee Singers, Chorus!, Thanet Rock Choir, Neon Rush, EK1 (celebrating 40 years together) and Two’s Company.
There are expected to be more than 100 stalls – old favourites and newcomers alike – all over the park. The steam trains, headed by Ramsgate and District Model Engineering Club, will be running and both the Friends of Ellington Park bookshop and café will be open.
A spokesperson for the Friends of Ellington Park said: “This year, we have tried to make use of the full 12 acres of the park. We hope there will be something of interest for everyone and have made sure that as many attractions as possible are free or at least affordable.
“We are also really delighted that this year, many hard-working and creative pupils from local primary schools have produced bunting which will be displayed all around the park, too. Our grateful thanks to the students and staff involved in beautifying Ellington Park for the day.
“And the Friends of the East Kent will be back this year, offering free rides on their vintage bus between Ramsgate harbour and station and the park. This gives event-goers the chance to arrive in style and not have to worry about where to park.
“We look forward to seeing you there”.
Entry to the park will be free and the event runs from 11.30am to 6.30pm.
