A fundraiser has been launched to help pay for the funeral of much-loved Margate mum, nan and great nan Cherilyn Ann Crow.

Cheri sadly died six weeks after she was struck by a car in Westbrook.

The 75 year old had suffered 12 fractures from the collision in Westbrook Avenue and faced multiple surgeries.

The former care worker was transferred to Hawkinge House in Folkestone towards the end of that month but then the family were given the devastating news that she was not strong enough to recover.

Cherilyn Ann passed away on Wednesday, October 15, surrounded by her loved ones after being brought home by her family.

Granddaughter Paige Crow has now set up the appeal to provide “the most beautiful send off the most beautiful woman.”

Former care worker Cheri was an animal lover who sadly had to give up her pets due to being in hospital after the collision. She was also known for her sweet tooth and love of music and dancing.

Paige said: “My nan really was the most incredible lady, supporting those who needed it most. She had a sweet tooth I can’t even comprehend, ice creams, cream eclairs, sweets, chocolate rolls, she would eat it all in seconds!

“She’s left behind a family that are absolutely devastated with her passing. She’s known for her love of animals, and a good old chat, her random crazy dance moves wherever a song was blasting but overall the love and kindness she gave to every single person.”

Cherilyn Ann was a mum of two, nan of five and great-nan of 10.

Paige said: “She had a heart of gold, a beautiful soul, the kind of woman you could only wish for to call your nan, sister, mother, or friend.”

It is hoped the fundraiser will help with funeral arrangements, and any further funds will be put towards a headstone for her resting place.
