A very successful evening for Thanet AC at the England Athletics awards evening on Sunday 5th October.
Timothy Williams received a nomination for official of the year. This is due to his continued commitment to supporting athletic events throughout the county and nationally. He also recently was awarded an international accreditation for his officiating.
James Bridge was recognised for his outstanding efforts and enthusiasm for coaching, receiving a runner-up award for Coach of The Year.
Thanet AC won the award for community engagement, through its work with the armed forces community, making Athletics more accessible. The signing of the armed forces covenant., and the continued work recognising and celebrating veterans associated with a club was commented on.
Club Chair, Julien Lawton said: “To even be nominated for an award is a fantastic achievement for both the individual and the club. To walk away with two trophies despite being against some very tough opposition from much larger clubs, demonstrate the dedication and commitment of the club, its coaches, athletes and our friends and family.
“Thanet AC has athletes from across East Kent and would welcome enquiries from our community.”
