A Ramsgate musician and renowned organist has been sentenced after admitting indecently assaulting a teenage boy in 1999.
Paul Stubbings, 55, was Master of Music at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, when he molested the 17-year-old after giving him alcohol while the teen visited him at his home.
At Southwark Crown Court Stubbings, who had pleaded guilty to one count of indecently assaulting the teen on December 15, 1999, was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years. He was also ordered to complete 300 hours of community service, plus 25 days of rehabilitation.
He has been ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and pay £150 costs.
Stubbings, formerly of Ellington Road, Ramsgate, lost his recent role as an academic at Canterbury Christ Church University following his guilty plea. He is now living with his mother in North Yorkshire and claiming benefits, reports the Daily Mail.
Stubbings was a frequent performer at choral concerts in Thanet and east Kent and was also previously Director of Music at St Lawrence College in Ramsgate.

He was obviously seeking promotion to the priesthood.
I guess he’s lucky he only committed indecent assault. Had he offended someone on social media he could have got serious jail time.
