St Laurence CE Junior Academy in Ramsgate welcomed The Rt Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Bishop of Dover and Bishop in Canterbury, for a special visit that left pupils and staff alike feeling inspired and uplifted.
Bishop Rose has oversight of the Canterbury Diocese — which spans from Maidstone to the south coast, including the Weald, Romney Marsh, Ashford, Dover, Thanet, Faversham, Sittingbourne, and the Isle of Sheppey.
She spent lunch engaging with pupils and staff, sharing stories from her life and ministry.
During her visit, Bishop Rose spoke warmly to pupils and gave a special blessing at lunchtime. Connah, a Year 6 pupil, said, “I found it really interesting to learn about her life. She’s done so much and it made me think about what I might want to do when I’m older.”
St Laurence headteacher Sarah Graham said: “We were honoured to welcome Bishop Rose to our school today. It was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to share their learning and faith journey with her.
“Her visit was inspiring for both staff and students, reinforcing the strong links between our school and the wider church community. We are grateful for her time, wisdom, and blessings.”
while she there , why dont she bring some cash out of the churches billions to restore the clocks on st laurence church ? i expect they will be rattling the box to let the locals collect the money
