Glossy magazine Isle will be taken on by Brightside Publishing under licence for this year with a view to buy it.
The magazine first launched in 2005 and was previously published by Kent On Sunday until being taken on as an independent venture 10 years ago by editor Kiki Case and commercial director Simon Abra.
In November the duo announced plans to sell the publication and had discussions with several potential buyers before reaching the agreement with Brightside Publishing – publishers of Margate Mercury, Ramsgate Recorder and Broadstairs Beacon.
Simon and Kiki say they are delighted to be handing stewardship of the magazine to an established, local publishing company.
Brightside has appointed Emma Dublin {pictured above) as the new editor. Emma has more than 25 years editorial experience, working on high profile consumer magazines, including Coast, Homes & Gardens, Good Homes, Psychologies and The Christmas Magazine.
She has successfully overseen the transition and restructuring of a number of magazines between publishers.
Emma moved to Westgate 10 years ago with her husband and son and has since thrown herself into working with the local community.

“We are already working hard behind the scenes with the editorial and production team to ensure that Isle is produced and distributed in late spring.”

As the ex publisher of Kent on Sunday and local person it’s good to see it is with publishers who get what community media is all about. Wish everyone well including Simon and Kiki who are know love the area. I hope Emma and the new team can build on the last 18 years of Isle Magazine. Regards Paul
