An explosion of glitter, sequins and sparkle were the dazzling backdrop to special Christmas creative afternoons with children and parents at Newington Community Primary in Ramsgate.
With the big day less than a month away, festive fun is already on the agenda at the school as making colourful Christmas hoop decorations saw parents return to the classroom to lend a hand.
The long-standing tradition of creating the hoops is a heart-warming display of community spirit that resulted in an array of memorable decorations that will help decorate the main school hall and brighten up the school.
Gemma Clements, Key Stage 1 and Wider Curriculum Lead, said: “It is great for parents to feel involved in our annual hoop decorating.
“It brings everyone together and creates such a warm community atmosphere. We all had a fantastic time.”
The event has set the winter wonderland scene for a busy programme of festivities.
Children are now eagerly anticipating the next instalment of the festive activities—decorating their own stars for the school’s Christmas trees. Each star will carry a special festive wish from its maker, adding a personal touch to Newington’s celebrations.
Pupils are also busy rehearsing their Christmas performances, and the school is eagerly anticipating inviting parents back to watch their festive shows.
Assistant Head Teacher Hannah Raven added: “There is always a special magic around the school at this time of year. We are off to a Christmas cracker of a start and we cannot wait to see what the coming weeks bring.”
