Packed programme for Ramsgate Festival of Sound 2024

Ramsgate Festival of Sound at locations including Ellington Park

Now in its seventh year, Ramsgate Festival of Sound returns with another packed line up of artists, performances and installations from August 22-25.

Thursday’s opening event at St George’s Church will be a synth-based concert headlined by Look Mum No Computer performing the music of Bach to modern day dance beats using his analogue synth creation the Potakosmo. The evening will also feature two opening acts – Rosie Carr and Microfilm (Mark Bandola & Richard Armstrong-Sealand). The concert ends at 9.30pm to allow for last train to London at 10.07pm.

Friday night will take attendees underground into Ramsgate’s iconic wartime Tunnels for  ‘Water Holds Me Like a Lover’ a very special vocal and visual event curated by composer Donna McKevitt and filmmaker Susan Thomson.

Saturday features the annual free family day at Ellington Park with fun workshops by This Bean Spins, Katie McGarry, Taiko Dunlopo and more.

Live music begins at 5pm with Wyatt Riot followed by some lover’s rock music courtesy of DJ Front to Back before he hands over to the cosmic headliners The Future Psychedelics the Future presenting The Liquid Love Chronicles. Dressing up is encouraged – the theme is ‘Underwater, Outer Space’.

Busk at Dusk is back on the East Cliff promenade on Sunday night with music taking place in the shelters and on the festival stage. Pie Factory Music will curate the main stage from 5pm, followed by a great new line up of buskers from 6pm-8pm before gypsy jazz duo Lost Revellers open for Sunday’s headlining act, the infectiously fun Gemma Rogers and band for a triumphant festival finale.
