In a vibrant celebration of local creativity and community, showcase Synergetic brings together the diverse talents of 50 Kent-based artists, makers, crafters, photographers and writers under one roof in Margate.

Work by creatives who regularly exhibit in Shoreline’s two gallery spaces in Thanet  – The Eclectic Art Gallery and Westgate Galleria & Studio – will be on display at Margate’s Pie Factory gallery from August 1-5.

This year’s event features an eclectic mix of artworks that reflect the rich tapestry of our local creative scene. Work from hobbyists and amateurs through to full-time established professionals will be on display (and for sale), including paintings, ceramics, photography, lino, screen and digital printing, wood and metal work, sculpture, textiles, jewellery, collage, mixed media and more.

Shoreline’s lead, Sarah Gibbon, said selecting works for Synergetic this year was great fun but a very hard task as so much wonderful work was submitted.

She said: “This year our fantastic venue in Margate Old Town will be packed with more work than ever before. As always, the range of work selected embraces all forms of arts and crafts, including writing, and photography, reflecting the inclusive approach that has established our gallery spaces as supportive and inclusive environments for artists and makers to engage with interested customers and for arts and crafts lovers to support local talent.

“Whether you’re an art aficionado or simply looking for a new and accessible experience there is always something to captivate you in a Shoreline gallery and event. The roll call of locals participating is too long to list here but I can say that there will be regulars returning and new and emerging creatives exhibiting for the first time too.”

Synergetic is a platform for supporting local talent. Visitors help to contribute to the growth and sustainability of independent artists and small creative business owners who live and work locally, supporting the local economy. Most of the pieces on show will be available to buy, at prices aimed to suit all budgets.

The showcase is also an opportunity to meet and connect with the artisans in a relaxed and accessible environment.

Sarah is supported by a team of resident artists and makers from the Galleria.
