Thanet Pro Wrestling talent to go head to head with high profile grapplers in Coastal Clash

Wrestling event coming to Margate

Up and coming wrestlers from Thanet Pro Wrestling will be on the bill for a Coastal Clash show in August.

The event, being held at St John’s Church Community Centre on August 17, will also feature some star names and a high profile female wrestling bout.

Thanet Pro Wrestling, based in Margate, was launched in 2022 by founders and co-owners Jamie Hill, Christopher Care, and Stewart Pears.

The club uses a blend of athleticism, entertainment and local talent to take their wrestling shows on the road as well as training at their base in Westwood Business Park.

Under the mentorship of head coaches like Jordan Breaks, Revolution Pro Wrestling Cruiserweight Champion, and TK Cooper, one half of the dynamic Sunshine Machine duo, TPW is continuing to expand.

The latest event will showcase the skills of young members, aged 17 and above, who receive a structured program to prepare them for the ring. TPW also runs a children’s club on Sunday mornings, introducing the younger generation to the world of wrestling in a safe and fun environment.

Jordan, 33, grew up in Margate and then moved to Brighton where he started his wrestling training and spent nine years travelling to Brixton  for his sport. He moved back to Thanet one year ago and is now an instructor at TPW.

He said: “We are making the Coastal Clash as much about Margate as we can. Local artist Maddie Vian has designed our poster which is completely different from the usual wrestler line up and features the Lido, Big Wheel and Scenic Railway.

“The idea for the event is to have all the kids and up and coming wrestlers involved as well as having lots of wrestlers from around the country.”

The Coastal Clash will feature between 12 and 15 wrestlers split between TPW and out of area professionals.

Jordan said: “We have announced our women’s match. Looking back through archives I don’t know when there was last a women’s match in Thanet, if ever, but we wanted to celebrate women’s wrestling.”

That bout is between Kent’s Livvii Grace and Irish wrestler Anita Vaughan.

Jordan added: “It’s exciting. It is going to be a family show and we especially want to help out trainees who are all good and passionate.”

The Coastal Clash, promoted by Pro Wrestling Colossus, is at St John’s in Victoria Road, Margate, on August 17.

Doors open at 2pm, show starts at 2.30pm.
