A new boxing and fitness gym in Ramsgate has proved so popular after just three weeks that it may need to expand.
T50 Boxing and Fitness Academy has launched at the former The Window Workshop site in Whitehall Road.
Headed up by boxer and trainer Alex Stockley, the gym is holding sessions for children and adults and also has a special focus on assisting those with autism, ADHD or poor mental health.
Alex, 27, previously worked with Connor Gorham, of CG Fitness, before branching out on his own.
He said: “I have been boxing since I was nine years old and it helped me because I had a temper and have ADHD so it has been my thing to control my behaviour and it ended up becoming a real passion.
“As a kid I boxed and won championships then I left boxing for a while and did weight training then went back and won a heavyweight regional title.
“About a year ago I started training others, I’m a qualified personal trainer and nutritionist and have all my sports qualifications.
“I started getting quite busy and people were asking me to train their kids. Then I helped Connor at his gym before now opening my own gym.”
The T50 Boxing and Fitness Academy is already proving to be a hit with classes for youngsters and adults regularly attracting 20 people per session.
Alex said: “There’s a real mix of people from those training for fights to the every day person who wants to get a bit of confidence and fitness.
“For people who have autism, ADHD or mental health issues, this is a safe space for them to come and train.
“The gym has been absolutely heaving since we opened, the way it is looking I might even have to expand! I didn’t expect it to grow so fast.”
The gym is being sponsored by Stuart Mann, from Reclamet, who has already paid outto buy kit for young members.

- Tuesday 6am-6.30pm
- Wednesday 6am to 5pm
- Thursday 6am to 6.30pm
- Friday 6am to 5pm
- Saturday 6am to 11.30am
- Sunday closed
Classes
- Junior classes Mon/Wed/Fri, 5pm-6pm, £5 per session (Mon and Wed 4-13 yrs old Fri 10 yrs plus)
- Adult classes Mon/Wed/Fri, 6pm-7pm, £7 per session
- Gym walk-ins £5 per session
All ages and experience are welcome
