For the love of Westgate: Selma BenAyed’s tribute

Selma BenAyed spent many childhood holidays with her family in Westgate-on-Sea. After living and working overseas for some years, she returned to the UK and studied illustration and animation at UCA in Canterbury. She always retained fond memories of Westgate’s town and beaches and has been enjoying re-exploring them during her regular visits in recent years. This exhibition showcases watercolour paintings, embellished with free-hand stitching and gilding – and some poetry – that Selma has created to celebrate her love of Westgate-on-Sea. Depicting scenes and buildings that will be familiar to residents and visitors, most of the works are for sale.

Westgate Galleria is a large retail gallery and workshop space, located in charming Westgate-on-Sea, 29 Station Road, CT88RB. Selma will be in the gallery to meet and chat with visitors to her exhibition on the afternoon of Saturday 20th April, between 2pm and 4pm.
