Police at scene of ‘altercation’ in Birchington

Police officers are at the scene of an altercation in Birchington this afternoon (March 9).

Officers were called to La Turkvaz in Station Road at 1.49pm. It is understood one man has suffered an injury.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 1.49pm to reports of an altercation between two men at a restaurant on Station Road, Birchington.

“Officers are currently at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”

  2. perhaps they are sharing it throughout thanet . after all it only seems fair , it was minsters turn recently as well

  3. Damn. If we’d had advanced warning the altercation could have been added to the list of things to see and do in Thanet this weekend. Craft Fair on Dog Acre, Birchington, followed by a Fracas outside the Turkish Restaurant. Encore by Ms Pink, whipping miscreants who have been restrained in her personal portable stocks. Even reel wurld would leave his/her/its warm house for that, surely?

  4. Someone trying out their pro wrestling move with a chair. Not the first time there’s been a delivery of blunt force trauma outside the Turkvaz, and on both occasions, it’s involved the property above it. Last time didn’t involve a chair though.
