Dreamland Heritage Trust to host free circus inspired community day

Circus fun with Dreamland Heritage Trust

Circus fun, a pop-up museum, ceramic and lino art and a Lord Sanger play will all be on offer at a free community day in Dreamland this weekend.

The Dreamland Heritage Trust is hosting the event as part of the National Lottery open days scheme.

The fun takes place on Saturday (March 9) between 11am and 3pm and will feature a host of circus inspired workshops, celebrating more than100 years of Dreamland’s history and heritage.

Younger guests can step into the ring and learn circus skills with This Bean Spins, Thanet based community theatre organisation Looping the Loop will be hosting a circus inspired workshop, ceramics artist Jayne Wright brings her Tiles of Joy project to Dreamland, and artist Ieuan Edwards will be showcasing some of his Lino Print designs.

Visit the pop-up museum showcasing Dreamland’s history and learn more about Lord George Sanger – founder of Dreamland amusement park predecessor Hall By The Sea in Margate – through Looping the Loops’ Sanger community play project.

Events will be taking place in the Ballroom at Dreamland Margate (Hall by the Sea Road) from 11am until 3pm

Visitors are invited to dress up as their favourite circus hero.

The event are free but booking is essential for the THIS BEAN SPINS circus skills workshop due to limited spaces.
