The album was recorded in session at the Electronic Sound magazine studio earlier in 2023 and has an exclusive Electronic Sound release first edition of just 500 units pressed on transparent yellow vinyl.

Robin Colyer will be leading a local history walk on behalf of Margate Civic Society – discovering the history of a Victorian seaside suburb which was developed for more genteel holiday makers.

The walk starts at the Droit House (Thanet Visitor Information Centre), The Stone Pier, Margate Harbour Arm.

There is a donation charge of at least £3 for the walk, which lasts approximately an hour and a half.

Sandra Art4All

Following a hugely successful exhibition at The Margate School in August, The Sandra Art4All Studio has taken up residency in the Harbour & Tide shop at 38 Fort Hill, Margate.

The Sandra Art For All Studio was founded by artist Sandra Hampton who is proficient in British Sign Language, providing a working studio to support deaf, neurodivergent and autistic artists. As well as creating stunning, vibrant artworks using wide-range of techniques, Sandra has also been successful in submitting the artists’ paintings into open submissions at galleries such as the Royal Academy in London and @turnercontemporary.

The Art4All artists’ paintings are currently on show at Harbour and Tide until 30st October and are all for sale, with proceeds going directly to the artists and the running of the studio.

The exhibition is open everyday 11am-4pm, and will now be sharing the space with Cabbages & Queens Glassware, and Flowerhead Creations during half term.

Shell Grotto

Rammy the Raven will be in miniature form where you will find him in 25 shop windows across Ramsgate town centre.   Each little raven will have a letter attached and if you can work out the secret message once you have found all the letters, hand your completed trail form (available from most participating shops and the Visitor Info Centre in Harbour Parade) to win a Rammy the Raven or RAMSGREAT badge!  The trail runs until 31st October.

Ghoul Power: Halloween Film Screening of “The Love Witch”

Roger Smythe and Andrew Nolan have written and are directing two new plays for Halloween at the Sarah Thorne Theatre, Hilderstone Hall.

The first play is a traditional gothic horror, “Renfield, Slave Of Dracula”. It considers what will happen if Renfield rebels against his master? The second play, “Cost Of Living Bites”, is a new comedy set in Thanet. Two hard-up flatmates suspect that one of their neighbours is a vampire. They hold a Halloween party to find out who the vampire is.

Shows are 7.30pm on October 27; 2.30pm and 7.30pm on October 28 and 2.30pm on October 29.

Halloween-Themed Calligraphy Demonstration

Join Calligrapher Jenny Collier for a free demonstration of fun calligraphy basics using both italic and brush pens to create beautiful Halloween-themed lettering pieces. There will also be some card-making and papercraft demonstrations as well.

Jenny teaches calligraphy as a mindful movement practice – her classic calligraphy style has been used for traditional and royal events and provided to King Charles III – including the invitations for the King’s Coronation through the calligraphy company London Scribes.
