Exhibition by local artists Deborah and Nick Gilbert at the Pie Factory Gallery
This exhibition will include acrylic paintings from Deborah Isabella Gilbert, photography by Nick Gilbert and a bright, lively mix of paintings and mixed media from their friends.
Deborah works mainly in acrylic paint, as it dries quickly, allowing her to build up light layers of glazes. A glaze is a single layer of paint that’s thin enough to allow the colours beneath it to show through. Each new layer builds up the depth of the colour and modifies what it’s being painted over.
Nick is a photographer. He is continuously inspired by the light over the sea, producing atmospheric images.
Deborah and Nick are local artist who run DIG Gallery, also located in Margate.
