Organisers of Broadstairs Water Gala will be putting on fireworks and live music today (August 3).
The Water Gala should have taken place yesterday but was postponed due to the forecast of rain and gale force winds. Following that decision the Environment Agency also issued a pollution risk alert for Viking Bay which is now in place for a third day.
It had been hoped the firework display could still take place last night but it had to be postponed due to the continuing bad weather.
The voluntary Gala committee have worked to reschedule some of the events for today.
The funfair will operate at Victoria Gardens from 10.30am to 10.30pm.
There will be music on the Bandstand with Blake Sonnet from 2pm -4pm and Nylon Tigers from 8pm -10 .30pm.
Fireworks will be at 9.45 pm –
The Water Gala programme of events has been moved to August 23.
Its ridiculous that a water gale in 2023 cant take place because of pollution levels.
In fact it’s a scandal
But as long as water companies pay their dividends and support the Tories financially nothing will change. Even if water companies are fined its us that pay the fine
