Drop-in session sharing plans for Ramsgate Levelling Up Fund projects

A public drop-in session is being held in Ramsgate next week for people to find out more about regeneration projects in Ramsgate which come under the £19.8million Levelling Up Fund.

The Ramsgate projects are part of the levelling up scheme with Thanet council awarded £19.8m from government in 2021.

Plans outlined in the Levelling Up bid included a training hotel and restaurant at the Smack Boy’s building at Ramsgate harbour, a brasserie and a fishing facility for the local fleet to store and sell catch from; a new town square on the current pier yard car park and a refurbished clock tower building.

Proposals also include a ‘Green Port’, a Green Hub training centre for apprenticeships and training and community sites in Newington and Ramsgate.

The drop-in session will take place on Tuesday 18 July, between 2pm and 7pm, at the Crane Shed, West Crosswall near to the West Pier in Ramsgate Harbour (What3Words reference: sober.hike.zoom).

There will be boards on display showing sketches of the proposed plans. Architects and designers will be on hand to answer questions and there will be an opportunity to give initial feedback on some of the proposals.

Following the event, the displays will move to Discovery Planet in Ramsgate High Street where they will be on show during the Happy Mondays sessions for a further two weeks.

It will also be possible to submit feedback during this period, both online and via paper feedback forms.
