Trains disrupted due to emergency services incident at Broadstairs

All lines between Margate and Ramsgate are blocked this evening (July 8) as emergency services deal with an incident at Broadstairs station.

Police, ambulance and fire crews are currently at the scene.

Services are also cancelled or diverted between Faversham and Margate,

Trains are disrupted and expected to continue to be so until 8pm.

Southeastern says: “The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Margate and Ramsgate, meaning all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised. This is expected until 8pm.

“Network Rail response staff are onsite working with the emergency services to reopen the line. Tickets are being accepted on Stagecoach bus route The Loop between Margate and Ramsgate.”

A Kent Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “KFRS was in attendance at an incident at Broadstairs railway station after a call for assistance at 5.16pm today. Crews attended and their work was completed at 6.17pm.”

Emergency services have been contacted for further information.

UPDATE: Emergency services are now clear of the track at the station and the power to the track has been switched back on.

Trains can now run between Margate and Ramsgate but will not call at Broadstairs.
