Thanet Athletics Club member Ismae gives medal winning performances

Top performances from Ismae Abomeli

Thanet Athletics Club and Dane Court School pupil Ismae Abomeli has secured medals after competing in the Kent Schools Championships at Medway Park.

Ismae sailed through the heat of the 200m to reach the final, where she ran an outstanding race and secured a silver medal.  She then competed in the long jump, leaping her way to a personal best  of 5 metres, putting her way ahead of the other competitors to take the gold medal and the Kent School Championship title.

Because of her amazing efforts at the Kent Schools Championships, Ismae was selected to represent Kent in the Intercounties Cunliffe Cup in both the long jump and 200m.  She ran an amazing race in her 200m which secured her 2nd place, but unfortunately she didn’t get to compete in the long jump as the timings clashed with her 200m race.

The outstanding performance of the day was Ismae competing as a member of the 4 x 100m relay team with the team taking the top spot with a run time of 48.96 sec.
