
Police officers in Margate arrested a man on suspicion of drug, driving and harassment related charges after stopping a vehicle in Cecil Square on Tuesday (June 27).
A search of the car uncovered scales, bags and a mobile phone believed to be used for drug dealing.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Officers on duty in Cecil Square, Margate, during the afternoon of Tuesday 27 June had reason to stop a car.
“Following a search of the vehicle, a quantity of cannabis was seized, along with scales, bags and a mobile phone believed to be associated with drug dealing.
“A 28-year old man from Ashford was arrested on suspicion of driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and possessing drugs with intent to supply.
“He was also arrested on suspicion of harassment in relation to an incident in Ashford reported to have taken place between 2 and 6 June.”
The man was released on bail until 21 September pending further enquiries.
