Thanet friends to stage Back Through The Musicals at Chatham & Clarendon theatre

Friends Jed and Brad will perform the show this August

Two Thanet friends are staging a musical in Ramsgate this summer before they go on new paths to separate drama schools in September.

Bradley Bissett and Jed Silk, both 18, have written, directed and produced Back Through The Musicals which will be performed at Chatham & Clarendon school’s theatre on August 12th.

The duo are both former CCG students and have a wealth of stage experience already.

Bradley said: “We are both going off to different drama schools in September and really wanted to produce our own show before we go away.

“We’ve performed together in shows for years and help turn on the Ramsgate Christmas Lights. We also brought live entertainment to A La Turka last summer with our immersive waiter performances.”

Bradley was in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock and has done voice overwork  on Nick. Jr Cartoon Ricky Zoom.

Bradley and Jed have starred together in local shows such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Elf, In the Heights, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors and Bugsy Malone.

Bradley said: “As we got older and both got a job at A La Turka Ramsgate we regularly performed musical theatre hits for the customers most notably Greased Lightnin’ and after a lot of encouragement from the customers decided we should put on our own shows.”

Jed will be studying Foundation Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting and Bradley will study Musical Theatre at the London College of Music.

Back Through the Musicals will include numbers from Hamilton, Les Miserables, Dear Evan Hansen, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, The Greatest Showman, School of Rock and Back to the Future.

Curtain up is 7.30pm. Tickets are £11 and concessions £8.
