Dirtee Feast takeover with ice cream stuffed doughnuts and more at Ramsgate seafront phone boxes

Dean gets ready for a sweet Dirtee Feast takeover

If you love doughnuts, ice cream and fabulous toppings then get ready to head to the phone boxes on Ramsgate seafront next month which are undergoing a takeover by food business Dirtee Feast.

Boss Dean Adams, who has been running a menu of street bites and gourmet burgers and dogs in a Dirtee Feast residency and via home delivery, has taken on the lease for the phone boxes which formerly housed Ring Ring ice cream.

The 39-year-old has spent most of his career in hospitality, from running pubs to being a front of house manager, but struck out on his own during the covid pandemic.

Now he has taken on an extra challenge and plans to open the doors to the micro-food site on May 5 in time for the Coronation weekend.

Dean said: “I’m going to bring Dirtee Feast to the boxes with stuffed doughnuts, doughnut sandwiches, lots of flavoured toppings and ice creams. There will also be Slushies with fresh fruit flavours like mango and lime.

“I have the two boxes so one will be the ice creams and the other for the doughnuts. Through the Summer there will be lots of different ideas as well as the doughnut creamies and sandwiches.

“I was looking to expand and got given the opportunity by Dan (Montila) who owns the telephone boxes. I put my ideas to him and we will have a quite strong partnership.

“It is a good way to keep getting the business name out there and is central for the summer with a lot of footfall.”

Dirtee Feast has been running for around one year and has proved popular for catering at events at festivals, breweries and private events.

The business has been trading from The Ravengate Arms in Ramsgate but the pub is due to close this Saturday. Dean says he is in negotiations for a new site and is confident of business continuing.

The phone box venture will also feature popcorn with toppings and wafer nachos. There will be vegan ice creams on offer.

It will be open Friday-Sunday, 11am to 6pm, for the Coronation weekend and then Saturday and Sundays in May and every day in the school holidays.
