A couple who had to live apart for the first time in 69 years have been reunited at the official opening of Chartwell House in Broadstairs.
Colin and Joyce Smith cut the opening ribbon on their arrival as they became the first residents of the Boutique Care Homes’ venue.
The couple, who are from Broadstairs, have been married for 69 years but had to live apart for three weeks before moving into Chartwell House.
Joined by their sons, Chris and Ray, Colin and Joyce were greeted by team and Colin gave Joyce a tender kiss to mark the start of their journey together in their new home.
Home Manager of Chartwell House, Diane Collins said: “Welcoming Colin and Joyce to their new home is an immensely proud moment for all of us here at Chartwell House.
