Margate Youth FC Kicks group members quiz first team manager

Kicks youngsters at Margate FC

Young members of Margate Youth FC Kicks sessions, designed for children aged five to 16 with special educational needs and/or disabilities, have been quizzing the First Team manager.

The session, which is delivered by Inclusive Sport, involved a visit with Margate FC’s Andy Drury so the youngsters could ask him lots of questions about his role.

Claire Allen is the diversity and inclusion champion for Margate Youth and also works in an SEMH (Social, emotional and mental health needs) school.

She said: “We are very lucky to have such amazing facilities at Margate FC and this week we trained on the main pitch. The kids loved it. Andy came and spoke to the children and even had a little kick about with them.

“Our sessions are specifically for children aged 5-16 with SEND/disabilities who may struggle with mainstream football sessions. We have fun, learn lots and it is all done in a safe environment.”
