Exclusion zone at Western Undercliff after suspected ordnance discovery

A suspected ordnance (unexploded military ammunition or weapon) discovered at the Western Undercliff beach yesterday (May 31) is expected to be destroyed in a controlled explosion later today.

Officers were first called yesterday

Coastguard officers are at the scene this morning and are understood to have put a 50 metre exclusion zone in place.

It is understood The Royal Logistic Corps explosive disposal team has been called in.
