A five course vegan tasting menu showcasing fat, salt and sugar free cooking will be on offer at the Empire Room in Ramsgate next month.
On March 4 and 11 from 7pm diners at the Nelson Crescent restaurant can enjoy the menu and a presentation hosted by head chef Ross Barden
The aim is to present dishes that will appeal to vegans and non-vegans alike and showcase some fat free, sugar free and salt free cooking.
Ross said: “My aim is to introduce vegan food to those who are unfamiliar with this type of cooking and also to give those who are trying to eat more healthily some alternative approaches.
“Particularly we will be investigating ways to cook without using sugar, salt or oil. Many people with heart disease issues are trying to find tasty recipes that fit in with their restricted diets. These recipes are also great for those without current medical issues but who want to avoid developing heart disease in the future.”
Ross will deliver a brief presentation on his dishes during the evening and will also explain his simple yet effective approach to fat, salt and sugar free cooking. The meal is £30 per person.
