Wellbeing award presented to St Laurence in Thanet Junior Academy

Presentation at St Laurence

St Laurence in Thanet Church of England Junior Academy has been presented with a Wellbeing award from Headstart and Kent County Council.

David Weiss from Headstart and Cllr Sue Chandler from Kent County Council handed over the award.

St Laurence, in Ramsgate, is of the first schools in Kent to receive the award in recognition of all that they do for pupils, parents and staff in terms of physical and mental well-being.

The school was praised for the work that the pastoral team of Mrs Shepherd, Mrs Sladden and Mrs Duffy carry out to support children and parents.

The children were praised for the work they do to support one another, in particular St Laurence House Captains, Sports Buddys and Playground Beacons. Cllr Chandler said: “This is a fantastic achievement and it is very clear that everybody at St Laurence works so hard to provide support for well-being in the school.”

The award was presented to two serving Year 6 House Captains.
