Witness appeal after man armed with knife threatens victim in Margate

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened by another male armed with a knife in Margate.

It was reported at around 5.50pm on Wednesday, January 15, a man, who was standing in Margate High Street near the junction with The Centre, was approached by another man and threatened with the knife.

The victim was able to leave the area without further issue and call police. Both parties are known to each other.

A 46-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill and possession of a bladed article  and was released on bail until  February 3 while enquiries continue.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the disturbance is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/9242/20.

  1. I thought it was only children that use knives as an offensive weapon, children that drink and take drugs, oh but they do but adults do not do they as Margate has a role figure of an adult being a thug for years
    what is more offensive is a councilor getting away with a fine for fly tipping 100 bags with pink papers in them …that is real crime and your councilor for Cliftonville.
